The benefis of a properly applied heat shrink terminal is the elimination of corrosion, this is especially true with Ring terminals and Butt connectors. Quick Disconnects and Bullets will benefit if a corrosion inhibitor paste or dielectric grease is applied. To ensure proper crimping , the terminal must be crimped with a crimping tool specifically designed for heat shrink terminals so as to not damage the heat shrink tubing.
